The studio has officially announced the launch of a crowdfunding campaign aimed at delivering a complete Russian voiceover for the iconic game. The project will be executed in multiple stages, with the initial goal of raising 1.2 million rubles—an amount sufficient to dub the main storyline. If this target is met, the team will initiate an additional fundraiser to support radio voiceovers within the game.
Given the vast scale of San Andreas, the localization process is expected to take between one and a half to three years. GamesVoice has previously detailed the challenges it encountered while working on GTA: Vice City, a project that took 2.5 years to complete. However, the San Andreas voiceover marks the studio’s most ambitious undertaking to date, with its storyline dialogues alone rivaling the entirety of Vice City’s script.
Despite embarking on this major new project, the team has reassured supporters that ongoing localizations will not be abandoned. The Russian voiceovers for Star Wars Jedi: Survivor and Alan Wake 2 are already in their final stages, while the current status of translations for The Suffering, System Shock 2, Max Payne 3, and Jagged Alliance 3 remains uncertain.
On January 24, the studio successfully released a full Russian voiceover for GTA: Vice City, compatible with both the original game and its 2021 remastered edition. Over 150 actors contributed to the project, bringing the world of Vice City to life with Russian dubbing.
